Ilayathalapathy Vijay is one of the most bankable actors of Tamil cinema. With back to back hits, the actor established a huge fan base. Over the past couple of years, his films also did decent business in Telugu. Now his recent offering Bigil released across the globe on Friday marking the Diwali weekend. The film released as Whistle in AP and Telangana. The theatrical rights of the film are picked up for Rs 10 crores and the film received decent response over the weekend.
Whistle collected a theatrical share of Rs 6.5 crores in AP and Telangana in three days. The film has to be decent to recover the investments and end up as a safe project. Vijay's performance has been widely appreciated by the audience. Atlee directed this stylish and big-budget action drama. Nayanthara is the leading lady and AR Rahman composed the music.
