Ilayathalapathy Vijay slowly established his fan base across the Telugu states. After two decent hits, the actor tested his luck with Bigil which carried massive expectations. The film is dubbed into Telugu as Whistle and the film raked massive revenues over the Diwali weekend. Whistle received positive response all over and the Telugu theatrical rights are picked up for a price of Rs 10 crores. The film collected a theatrical share of Rs 7.75 crores in four days across AP and Telangana.
Whistle has to maintain good strength over the weekdays to recover the investments in the final run. With no big films releasing over this weekend, Whistle will have an advantage. On the other side, Karthi's Khaidi too picked up well and maintained good strength on its first Monday. Atlee directed Whistle and Vijay, Nayanthara played the lead roles.
