Donald Trump raised doubts about Kamala Harris' racial identity on Wednesday, suggesting that she might have shifted her identity for political gain. Speaking at the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago, Trump remarked that Harris was known for her Indian heritage initially and only later claimed to be Black. He questioned whether she is truly Black or Indian, citing her changing self-identification. Trump's remarks, which are part of his broader criticism of Harris, touch on her diverse background as the first female Black, South-Asian-heritage vice president in the US. The 78-year-old presidential candidate has lately intensified personal attacks on Harris, including baseless allegations of anti-Semitism, despite her marriage to a Jewish-American. Karine Jean-Pierre, the first black woman to be White House Press Secretary, labeled Trump's remarks as "offensive." She emphasized that individuals should have the freedom to define themselves without interference from others.

Senator JD Vance has faced criticism lately for comments he made in the past. One such controversial remark emerged in 2021, where he referred to "childless cat ladies." Another unearthed video from 2020 shows Vance once again addressing childless individuals. This resurfaced clip, shared by the Kamala Harris campaign account on Twitter, portrays Vance's stance on people without children. The ongoing controversy surrounding the US senator deepens as he labels such individuals in leadership roles as "more sociopathic." The video in question is from a conservative podcast where Vance discussed "Hillbilly Elegy and America's Future with Chris Buskirk." This best-selling memoir was later adapted into a biopic directed by Ron Howard in 2020. Individuals without children in their residence are considered to be psychotic.
