On Saturday Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested after he was convicted in a corruption case for three years. He was accused of selling state gifts for a profit when he was prime minister of Pakistan. Islamabad-based district sessions judge Humayun Dilawar imposed Rs 1,00,000/- fine and another six months in jail if he failed to pay the imposed fine amount.

70 years old Imran Khan was arrested from his house in Lahore with the help of Punjab police. He is moved to Kot Lakhpat Jail. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's assistant Attaullah Tarar confirmed the arrest of Imran Khan. Media also reported that he will be kept in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi or somewhere else, which is kept as a secret for now.

By the complaint of the Election Commission of Pakistan, Imran Khan's case was taken up by the court and he was also disqualified from the election for the same reason. Toshakhana's issue over the sale of gifts has turned out to be a major issue for the cricketer-turned-politician.

Toshakhana is a department under the cabinet division that stores the gifts given to the governments and foreign dignitaries to the rulers and the government officials of Pakistan.
