It all started in China and the coronavirus is spread across the globe. Millions of people lost their lives and several countries are still battling against the deadly virus. On Monday, the eastern half of Shangai is under lockdown after the fresh outbreak of the coronavirus. The authorities on Sunday announced that Shanghai will head for a lockdown in two phases and mass testing will be conducted for 25 million people in the city. The Chinese government is more bothered about the economy of Shanghai and the city turned out to be the hotspot for coronavirus. 3500 new cases are reported on Sunday and the lockdown will last till Friday in Shanghai.
There are no restrictions on air travel for now. China reported thousands of cases of coronavirus since the past two weeks. The people of Shanghai are filling up their groceries and storing them for the next one week considering the alarming situation and the lockdown. This hints of the fourth wave of coronavirus and a total number of 56,000 infections are reported in Shanghai in this month which is massive. The Disney Theme Park is closed for public. Mass testing is the best way to prevent the surge of the coronavirus feels the Chinese government. More than 87 percent of the Chinese population are vaccinated. As per the statistics, more than 52 million people aged above 60 are vaccinated. The booster doses administered are quite low.
