While the entire world was already mourning the loss of Irrfan Khan who passed away on Wednesday because of colon infection, another wave of shocked surfaced. Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor died after battling cancer for two long years.
The actor was admitted to the Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai because of his deteriorating condition where he breathed his last on Thursday morning. Wife and actress Neetu Kapoor was by his side during the last few moments.
Rishi Kapoor’s brother, Randhir Kapoor confirmed the news of his death.
Soon after, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to further confirm the news tweeting, “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”

Akshay Kumar also called everything happening a nightmare in Bollywood on twitter. Showers of condolences have started pouring in from the Bollywood fraternity and even political personalities.

Rishi Kapoor’s hospitalisation was confirmed by brother Randhir Kapoor. He confirmed that due to the deteriorating condition and him keeping unwell, Rishi Kapoor was immediately rushed to the hospital where he breathed his last.
Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018 following which he was in New York for his treatment. After a year of treatment and recovery, he returned to India on September 2019.
After returning to India, Rishi Kapoor’s health was being monitored on a daily and he was also admitted to the hospital frequently during February.
The veteran actor was part of some of the biggest Bollywood hits including Amar Akbar Anthony, Rafoo Chakkar, Sargam, Karz and Bol Radha Bol to name a few, His last film was The Body which starred Emraan Hashmi in the lead.
