Just a few days after mother’s reported death in Jaipur, Irrfan Khan died at a hospital in Mumbai following his battles with colon infection. The 53-year old actor was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai because of the complications.
The deceased had been battling cancer since 2018 and his spokesperson confirmed that he was under strict doctor’s supervision. Irrfan has left behind is wife and two sons, Babil and Ayan.
Famous Bollywood director, Shoojit Sircar took to twitter to pen down his condolences.
My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.

Irrfan Khan’s last movie, Angrezi Medium, which hit the screens just before the lockdown in India scored a lot of appreciation for the character that he played. Because of the lockdown, the movie was not played for long in the theatres and was then made available on the OTT platforms.
The actor is known for his contributions to both Bollywood and Hollywood movies. He has even won a National Award for his role in “Paan Singh Tomar”. Some of the Hollywood movies that he is known for include 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'Inferno' and 'Life of Pi'.
Stream of condolences have started pouring in from the film fraternity and political figures.
