Eight Indian-American women in the United States have been honored in acknowledgment of their achievements in various fields ranging from politics and business to civil rights activism and astrophysics. 

Immigration attorney Sheela Murthy, vice chairwoman of the Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) Jagruti Panwala and NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) astrophysicist Madhulika Guhathakurta were among the awardees. 

Other honorees were Manisha Gaekwad from Florida; Maryland Delegate Aruna Miller, Suman Raghunathan, executive director of the racial justice and civil rights group South Asian Americans Leading Together (SAALT), and Ann Ramakumaran, founder and Chief Executive Officer of a tech company Ampcus, Inc.

They were honored at the inaugural American Bazaar Women Entrepreneurs and Leaders Gala.

Tak, a pioneer for Indian-American women in galore fields, was honored for her endeavor in the fields of politics, art, and culture. One of the first Indian-American women to work in the United States military, she is likewise among the first Indian-American women fundraisers to make a mark across the nation. 

Astrophysicist Guhathakurta, who was born in Kolkata, is one of the most eminent Indian-Americans in NASA.

Scores of salient women entrepreneurs from across the country, executives of Fortune 500 companies, political and thought leaders, and leaders from the nonprofit world were present at the Women Entrepreneurs Forum and Leaders Gala.
