Fights in the school sometimes happen with the arguments between kids and in sometimes the kids may also throw punches at each other. A video showing teachers fight in the Stone Mountain, Georgia, is going viral in social media.
The officials of DeKalb County School have confirmed that the incident happened at Stone Mountain Middle School. “I really didn’t know that but to find out today – that’s really unacceptable,” said Valerie Stewart.
Valerie Stewart’s daughter is in 7th grade at the Stone Mountain Middle School. She could not believe a teacher and also a paraprofessional were fighting with each other in a classroom full of students.
The video posted to YouTube, shows the two were arguing, and then shoving each other as the fight escalates to be a brawl. Students can also be heard screaming in the background.
On Friday, Stewart’s daughter Madison was not in this classroom, but she is along with hundreds of other students who have seen the viral video.
The video also shows that students in the class trying to break the fight between two, but it did not work. Some other staff members had also tried to break it up.
The officials of DeKalb County School have confirmed that the people seen fighting in the video are school’s staff members. The officials released a statement, which said: “The interaction and conduct in the video is completely unacceptable and contrary to our district’s tenets and core principles. Those staff members that participated in the conduct have been removed from the learning environment.”
The students said that, after the fight between the two was broken up, the school officials came into their classroom, and went through their cell phones and have made them delete any evidence of the fight.
CBS46 reported that the Dekalb County School District said it is not aware of the staff going through student’s phones.
Both the staff members in the video were arrested and also charged with disorderly conduct. The school officials said that they will discipline both of the teachers appropriately, once the criminal investigation against both the teachers is over.
Several parents are calling for both the women to be fired.
