China has lodged "stern representations" with the America, following Unites States president Barack Obama signed a law into a US defence policy bill. The proposed bill suggests a plan to operate high-level military exchanges with self-ruled Taiwan.
A part of the $618.7 billion National Defense Authorization Act "expresses the sense of Congress that (the US Department of Defense) should conduct a programme of senior military exchanges between the United States and Taiwan".
China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement, that, Taiwan is Chinese territory and purely an internal matter.
"We urge the US side to abide by its promises made to China on the Taiwan issue, stop US-Taiwan military contacts and arms sales to Taiwan, to avoid damaging Sino-US ties and peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait," the ministry said.
Earlier, China was unset after the US President elect Donald Trump spoke with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen by telephone.
Trump has no idea how to run a superpower!
