There were 1,353 pilgrims along with tourists from Maharashtra who were trapped in the Uttarakhand  floods out of them 334 are still not capable of being traced. There are nine women who are feared dead among the 334 missing pilgrims. The state government has not only launched a helpline at the same time Relief Coordination Unit in Dehradun, with officials sent from Maharashtra centre in New Delhi on the contrary the state chief minister, Prithviraj Chavan, has also given Rs100 million as accomplishment for flood relief work to the chief minister of Uttarakhand.

Pradeep Kumar, Additional Resident Commissioner, who is heading the unit in Dehradun, expressed through telephone that calls have been pouring from all parts of Maharashtra from relatives and friends inquiring about their loved ones trapped in the flood waters. They are as well getting some calls along with messages from those trapped in the mountains yet the connectivity is poor. They are anticipating connectivity to increase by value. In the intervening time their rescue and relief operations have already commenced.

Accompanied by pain and grief the trapped pilgrims compounded by roads being washed away, telephone network influenced in a harmful way at the same time batteries of mobile phones dying away, tour operators are also coordinating with the government on where the pilgrims could be trapped. The government has also initiated one more camp office as a help centre in Haridwar. Furthermore, isolated passengers from Maharashtra will be offered a special flight from Delhi-Mumbai subsequent to getting them airlifted from Uttarakhand. There was another prominent fact known was the number of travellers who visited the Himalayan shrines of Uttarakhand are from different districts of Maharashtra where helpline numbers have been launched.

That's really a scene of melancholy!
