What's going on in Sanjay Dutt's mind?

On Tuesday, Sanjay Dutt sought permission from the court to directly surrender himself at the Pune Yerwada Jail without appearing at the court. The court is yet to spew out a judgment on the same but Sanjay has already taken a U-Turn. He has reversed his ideology now and withdrew his plea at the court.

After being indicted and sentenced to serve out the remainder of his five-year sentence under the Arms Act in connection with the 1993 bomb blasts trial, he has asked for an extension in the deadline until the 16th of May to which he was granted permission. Two day's prior to his deadline, he had yet another plea to make to the Tada judge that he would directly go to Pune jail and surrender instead of appearing at the court once again to avoid the media hubbub. He also mentioned that the driver of the vehicle that ferried him over to the court had to drive over 120 kmph which was a threat to his life if the driver made the slightest miscalculation.

What is going on inside the brains of Sanjay Dutt? Requests and withdrawals within a period of one day? Wouldn't that amount to another charge of wasting the court's time?

He has to serve about two years and nine months and expects some remission from the government.
