Rahul's first victory - KARNATAKA

The Congress' triumph in Karnataka has showed the people's acceptance to AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi's politics and their strong feeling of dislike to illegal mining and corruption arranged by BJP leaders, INTUC State secretary Sudarshan stated with assurance on Wednesday. While terming it as Rahul Gandhi's first victory, he said the Congress would recover power in the State in 2014 elections.

Furthermore, Congress supporters led by MLC M. Sudhakar Babu celebrated the victory of the party in Karnataka by bursting crackers and distributing sweets at District Congress office on Wednesday. Mr. Sudhakar Babu was known to have said that the victory was a morale booster to the party and supporters across the State. He said the party fared well in Haveri district in Karnataka where Union Minister Kotla Jayasuryapraksa Reddy, he and others campaigned in the elections.

Mr. Sudhakar Babu took exception to the depreciatory statements made by TDP Polit Bureau member against Mr. Suryaprakasa Reddy over the railway wagon workshop while Mr. Krishna Murthy charged with a crime the Minister of giving publicity to the railway wagon workshop as integral coach factory where he said the Minister had never guided people wrongly by making false claims. In fact, the TDP leaders themselves charged the Minister with failure to get a coach factory but only wagon workshop. Even all the newspapers described it as a midlife wagon workshop. Mr. K.E. Krishna Murthy should have learnt from his colleagues the status before joining in a dispute. He asked the TDP leaders not to spoil the development environment in the district by making adverse statements. He wanted to know who had prevented Mr. Krishna Murthy from bringing a major project to Kurnool when he was the MP.

In Kurnool, Minister for Minor Irrigation T.G. Venkatesh also said the stability offered by the Central government and welfare schemes introduced in Andhra Pradesh inspired Karnataka people to vote the Congress in power. While talking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said the Karnataka victory would be a forerunner to what was going to happen to Andhra Pradesh next year. He continued saying that the Congress would be able to form the next government for the third time in the State. After the triumph in the cooperative elections, the leaders who migrated to other parties were in a a situation requiring a choice between equally undesirable alternatives and those who had plans to leave the Congress had changed their minds.

He said the State government could assure better development irrespective of the shortage of power and failed monsoon. Nevertheless, the government was unable to reproduce the good work done by it. Further, he was known to have dismissed the charges that the CBI was acting at the strongly worded request of the Congress party saying that most of the victims of CBI acts were Congress leaders be it the Central or State Ministers.

Coming to the concluding factor, had it been so, the Congress would have managed to save its leaders. He even mentioned that policy changes were needed to overcome the power shortage in the State like giving priority to wind power, solar power and efforts to secure gas allocation. It was also known that P. Srinivasulu Setty was also present during the press meet.

Now, it has turned out to be a moment of pride for the Congress!

Let's wait and see where this high degree of joy lands finally!
