Indian National Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is all set to address over 50,000 Indian Americans in ‘Howdy Modi!’ event, saying no jamboree could hide the country’s economic mess.
Former Congress President tweeted saying:
Amazing what PM is ready to do for a stock market bump during his ‘Howdy Indian economy’ jamboree. At more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore, the Houston event is the world’s most expensive event, ever! But, no event can hide the reality of the economic mess ‘Howdy Modi’ has driven India into.

At + 1.4 Lakh Crore Rs. the Houston event is the world's most expensive event, ever!
But, no event can hide the reality of the economic mess “HowdyModi” has driven India into.
Rahul Gandhi’s tweet came hours after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a scaling down in corporate tax rates for domestic companies in an attempt to boost economic growth.
Sitharaman said the Centre will waive revenue of Rs 1.45 lakh crore per year as a consequence.
Modi is scheduled to address the Indian diaspora at the mega event, hosted by Houston-based non-profit organization Texas India Forum. United States President Donald Trump and other influential politicians are expected to be in attendance.
