Opposition Parties Met in Parliament Library Building today amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The crucial meeting discussed security situation prevailing in the country.
Some of the Leaders who participated in meeting were former prime minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, , West Bengal Chief Minister TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Loktantrik Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav, NCP President Sharad Pawar and party colleague Praful Patel.
After the meeting Congress President Rahul Gandhi said “The meeting of leaders of 21 political parties condemned the dastardly Pulwama attack by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed on 14th February 2019 and lauded the action taken by our armed forces,” ANI reported
“I’m sorry to hear that one of our brave IAF pilots is missing. I hope he will return home soon, unharmed. We stand by our armed forces in these difficult times.”
“Leaders condemned Pakistani misadventure & expressed deep concern for safety of our missing pilot. Leaders urged govt to take the nation into confidence on all measures to protect India's sovereignty, unity & integrity,” he added.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Deputy High Commissioner Syed Haider Shah was summoned by Ministry of External Affairs. He arrived at the South Block
