After four days of riots that took place in Hyderabad, the city police told the media that the curfew imposed in two sensitive areas of city—Saidabad and Madanaapet—would be lifted partially up to three hours on Wednesday. The police commissioner (in charge) Anurag Sharma has stated that this decision was taken keeping in view the problems being faced by the public in these areas. People residing in Saidapet and Madannapet are advised by the police to come out of there homes between 12 PM and 3 PM to purchase essential commodities.
Since the curfew would be re imposed at sharp 3 PM, people are informed to complete their tasks in given time. Although situation is completely normal in many parts of Hyderabad, restrictions are still effective in Saidabad and Madannapet keeping in view the law and order situation. The RTC buses in old city area of Hyderabad were called off by the police who have also asked the merchants and traders in old city to down their shutters.
Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday arrested seven persons who, according to the police, were responsible for riots. Addressing the media, DCP (crime) J Satyanarayana has said that among the arrested seven, six of them were accused in three cases in Madanappet area while the remaining was accused in Saidabad riots. He has said that they arrested the seven only after they obtained substantial evidences to prove them guilty of the offence. (Phani)
