Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi said today his department will construct new rail lines between Pitapuram and Kakinada, between Medak and Akkannapeta and between Bhadrachalam and Kovvur in Andhra Pradesh with the active cooperation of the state government.
Introducing the railway budget for the year 2012-13 in the parliament, the minister said that a new railway line will also be developed in the Visakhapatnam –Kakinada coastal line. “The state government has promised to extend full cooperation for this,” he said.
Trivedi also disclosed that the second phase of the Hyderabad-Secunderabad MMTS has also been cleared and his department would soon release the funds for the implementation of the second phase. (J)
