Former TRS MP Mr Vinod Kumar said his party would put up candidate against Konda Surekha, YSR Congress party candidate at Parakala in Nalgonda district in the by polls.
Speaking to media persons at Warangal today, he said Speaker Nadendla Manohar had disqualified Surekha for defying the congress party whip during the vote on no-confidence motion.
“Her resignation for the sake of Telangana was not accepted by Speaker. She was axed for defying the whip,” he said, adding, she would face contest from TRS candidate at Parakala whenever by poll is held there.
He however offered to support the candidature of Surekha if her party leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy made a statement in favour of Telangana in Parliament.
Vinod Kumar further observed congress candidates would lose their deposits if Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy and Tirupati MLA Chiranjeevi take up campaigning in Telangana area. “The same fate will befall TDP candidate if Chandrababu Naidu campaigns,” he said. (J)
