Stylish Star Allu Arjun was in a hurry and he wanted to release Pushpa at any cost on December 17th. The film had no promotions in Hindi but it opened to decent footfalls. The film now crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in Hindi despite of the third wave of the coronavirus pandemic and theatres shut across the major North Indian belt. All the other regions have been operating theatres with 50 percent occupancy. The makers announced that the film completed 50 days and grossed Rs 365 crores in all the languages worldwide.

Sukumar is the director of Pushpa and the film featured Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Sunil and Anasuya in the lead roles. Devi Sri Prasad's music album is a chartbuster and Allu Arjun's performance as Pushpa was widely appreciated by the audience. Mythri Movie Makers are the producers of this action thriller which is set in the Chittoor district and is all about red sandalwood smuggling. Sukumar and Allu Arjun are busy with the sequel for Pushpa and the shoot commences in April.
