However, their lives take a turn when Mahi encounters Yashna (Mrunal Thakur) and together they urge Viraj to reveal the hidden story that has haunted him for years. Who is Mahi's mother, and what is the truth behind her absence? As Viraj's secrets come to light, the lives of all three individuals are forever altered. This captivating tale unfolds in Hi Nanna.
Analysis
Hi Nanna presents an intriguing concept, but its execution falls short due to a slow-paced narrative and cliched scenes. The only elements that hold our interest are Hesham Wahab's background music and the visually stunning cinematography. The screenplay could have been improved. The songs are calming. For a debut director, Shouryuv has crafted a well-made drama, but their next project should be more captivating. The director's concept is fresh, but the execution follows a conventional path for the majority of the film.
Positives:
Nani, Mrunal Thakur and Baby Kiara
Emotional Content
Climax
Background Score
Production Values
Negatives:
Slow Pace
Boring episodes
Romantic Episodes
Performance
Nani's recent appearance during Dasara showcased a new, larger-than-life persona, but in Hi Nanna, we witness the return of the gentle Nani. The character of Viraj comes effortlessly to Nani, and while there are no groundbreaking elements in this film that he hasn't explored before, Nani manages to captivate us throughout, barring a few repetitive romantic scenes that we have seen him perform countless times.
Mrunal Thakur's allure and portrayal suit her character perfectly in this film. Her subtle expressions set her apart from the rest. The young actress Kiara steals the show with her adorable presence and impressive emoting skills. The protagonist finally arrives at their intended destination, guided by the lead character. Priyadarshi is given a substantial role and is also given a significant part in the impressive climax. Nasser's role is predictable. Shruti Haasan only appears in a song and fails to make an impact. Neha Sharma has a brief and easily missed role. Angad Bedi plays the typical role of a fiance.
Final Word
Despite some good performances, Hi Nanna has a limited appeal because of the slow pace and boring stuff.
