During WWDC 2024, Apple unveiled several Apple Intelligence features to be released in iOS 18. However, according to recent reports, the company plans to delay the release of its artificial intelligence, Apple Intelligence, until October. Apple Intelligence could roll out to iPhones running iOS 18.1 in the weeks following its September release. This report published by Bloomberg states that the company needs more time to fix this error. However, testers can experience it in the coming weeks. The tech giant is expected to make Apple Intelligence available to software developers for early testing as early as this week. This version is released as a beta version of iOS 18.1 and iPad 18.2. The report also states that the delay between the official release and the first beta shows that Apple wants to improve parts of Apple Intelligence. In order to easily offer its AI bet to consumers, Apple needs developer support to fix problems and test features more comprehensively. This is also one of the reasons why Apple retires some AI features and saves them for later use.

The delay also means that the first batch of the iPhone 16 series, which is rumored to have AI features, will need to be updated in the coming weeks. We previously reported that Apple's smart feature release will be delayed until 2025. This means that even when Apple releases iOS 18.1 and iPad 18.1, it will only have a handful of AI features. It is certain that there will be no major repairs to Siri in this update. Siri has the ability to find information about your device and take contextual actions, but we'll have to wait until next year. Apple Intelligence was introduced at WWDC 2024 and offers some interesting features. One of the standout features of Apple Intelligence is its advanced language understanding capabilities. New writing tools will be available in Email, Notes, Pages, and third-party apps to help users easily rewrite, proofread, and summarize text. Transcription tools, for example, provide multiple versions of the written text and adapt the tone to different audiences and tasks. Further proofreading ensures grammatical accuracy and suggests corrections. Summarize, on the other hand, helps users condense long texts into understandable formats such as bullet points or tables.

Apple Intelligence also improves the email experience on Apple devices, including iPhone, through prioritized messages. It highlights urgent emails and provides a concise summary of your messages, making it easier for you to manage your inbox. Smart Reply offers quick answers and the system recognizes and ensures that all questions are answered in one email. Likewise, notifications are simplified with prioritized notifications and summaries, and distraction reduction features focus on delivering only the most important notifications. When it comes to multimedia, Apple Intelligence introduces Image Playground, a tool for creating entertaining images in animation, illustration or sketch style. The tool is integrated into various apps such as Messages and Notes and allows users to visually enhance their communication and notes. Additionally, the Genmoji feature allows users to create personalized emojis by entering descriptions or using photos of friends and family.
