Apple Intelligence or AI finally reached the iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max models this week. Well, the developer preview of the iOS 18.1 update alone offers a taste of the brilliant AI features that will be available to premium iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 users later this year. Apple's AI will be different. The main reason for this is that the focus is on user privacy and all data is stored on the device using a special artificial intelligence chip that powers the data center. The iOS 18.1 developer preview is now available. If you have a suitable iPhone 15 Pro model, you can try it out. Here's how: Apple offers a developer preview of iOS 18.1 for many iPhone models, but you can only try out the AI features on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. Obviously, the developer preview means the release has a lot of bugs and some apps may not work properly. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you do not install the developer preview on your primary device, which you need for important work calls, messages, and emails. Go to your iPhone Settings and look for the “Software Update” section where you will have the option to sign up for the beta program. After you sign in with your Apple ID and complete the required authentication, a pop-up window will appear allowing you to install Apple's iOS 18.1 developer preview.

You will then need to register Apple Intelligence features separately. Apple runs a waiting list model for people in the US to try out upcoming gadgets. Once you've overcome the several-hour wait, you can install future AI features on your iPhone 15 Pro models. In iOS 18.1, Apple switched artificial intelligence to Siri, which not only makes it speak more like a human, but also makes its responses more personalized and textual. Apple's voice assistant needed a major overhaul, but after all these years, AI could be its savior. Siri currently delivers answers tailored specifically to the United States, but it could soon improve its reputation and finally dispel the meme that Siri critics have become. In the biggest design change, Siri now lights up on the edge of your iPhone 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max display.

Safari gets another advantage with the AI upgrade thanks to the “Summary” button at the top of the web browser. As the name suggests, it gives you an overview of the web pages you view in Safari. Use it with your Apple ID so you don't have to create a separate account. iPhone Photos also has a new AI feature called Memory Movie. You can also create content using text messages and customize videos for videos created using Apple's artificial intelligence technology. Apple is using artificial intelligence to offer iPhone users a Grammarly competitor. A new writing tool helps you correct spelling and grammar in apps like Notes. These features are merely trailers for full films that will be released in the near future. But for now, we at least know what premium iPhone users can expect when iOS 18.1 launches later this year.
