Apple unveiled several innovative features for the iPhone during the iOS 18 presentation at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2024. One key highlight was the revamp of the Control Centre, which now offers a more expansive gallery of controls with numerous additional options. Users will also have the ability to navigate through multiple pages by swiping to access even more controls and toggles. Interestingly, Apple introduced a more convenient way to power off the iPhone, which was not initially showcased. The iOS 18 Developer Beta 1 incorporates this new feature in the Control Centre. Instead of the previous method of pressing and holding the Volume Down and Power buttons, followed by swiping the slider, the updated Control Centre now includes a dedicated power button that allows users to quickly turn off the device. This shortcut can be easily accessed by swiping down to open the Control Centre and then tapping on the new power button, which will then display the slider for turning off the iPhone.

With the recent release of the iOS 18 Developer Beta 1, Apple has quietly introduced a new shortcut feature for iPhone users. This is just one of the many enhancements the tech giant has made to its mobile operating system, without explicitly highlighting them during the developer event keynote. Another notable, yet unadvertised, addition is an extended power reserve functionality. Reportedly, the iPhone can now continue displaying the time even after its battery has been completely depleted, for an extended period. This discovery was made by a user. Moreover, the device is said to display a "iPhone is Findable" banner at the bottom of the screen, suggesting that the Find My feature might remain operational for longer, thanks to the extended power reserve capabilities.
