Apple has unveiled its first mixed-reality headset, the Vision Pro, at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) last year. More than a year after the official launch and six months since the product's release, Apple is reportedly working on additional products that utilize the Vision Pro's technology to compete with Meta. The company is considering introducing a smart glasses rival to Meta's Ray-Ban in 2027 and may also launch AirPods with built-in cameras. According to the report, Apple's Vision Products Group is working on at least four new devices, including the smart glasses and camera-equipped AirPods. The tech giant is aiming to leverage the visual intelligence technology developed for the Vision Pro across more of its products.

The more affordable Apple vision headset is expected to cost around $2,000 (roughly Rs. 1,68,000). It may use a less powerful processor and cheaper materials. The original Apple Vision Pro starts at $3,499 (roughly Rs. 2,90,000) and comes in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The cheaper model will not have the EyeSight feature. The second-generation Vision Pro with a faster chip is anticipated to launch in 2026. Apple anticipates the new, lower-priced device to sell at least double the units of the Vision Pro. The Apple Vision Pro was announced in June 2023 at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and is currently available for purchase in various countries. It operates on the visionOS system and supports both augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
