The Indian cricket team's triumph at the Kensington Oval has been celebrated with a grand announcement. Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has declared a prize money of Rs. 125 crores for the victorious squad. In his statement, Shah commended the team's exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Rohit Sharma and his companions have etched their names in history by becoming the first team to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 without a single loss. Shah further acknowledged the team's remarkable resolve and resilience, hailing them as the inaugural unbeaten champions of the prestigious event. This achievement comes as a redemption for the side, which faced criticism following their loss in the 2023 ODI World Cup final against Australia.

India's triumph over South Africa was a momentous occasion, celebrated across the nation with great enthusiasm. "This team has consistently silenced their critics through their outstanding performances. Their journey has been truly inspirational, and now they have cemented their place among the greats, achieving something remarkable that fills all Indians with immense pride and joy," said Jay Shah in his statement. "I am immensely proud to speak about this extraordinary team. It is their unwavering dedication, hard work, and unyielding spirit that has made us all so proud. Led by Rohit Sharma, and with the support of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and others, they have realized the dreams and aspirations of 1.4 billion Indians," the statement concluded.

The victorious Indian national cricket team, champions of the 2024 T20 World Cup, were awarded a substantial financial prize of approximately $2.45 million (or INR 20.42 crore) by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Meanwhile, the South African squad, who narrowly missed out on the title, received a respectable sum of $1.28 million (INR 10.67 crore). Additionally, both England and Afghanistan, who were eliminated in the semi-finals by India and South Africa, were each granted $787,500 (INR 6.56 crore) as recognition for their tournament performances.
