Team India is unstoppable in the ICC World Cup 2023. The team reported its eighth victory in a row and registered a record win against South Africa which is next to India in the points table. In a strong battle that took place in Kolkata's Eden Gardens, India won the toss and elected to bat first. Team India registered a handsome total of 325 for the loss of five wickets in their 50 overs. Birthday boy Virat Kohli (101 not out) was the top scorer for the side and he scored his 49th ODI century and is one short for world record that is on Sachin Tendulkar's name. Shreyas Iyer (77) and Rohit Sharma (40) are the other top contributors. Keshav Maharaj (1/30), Kagiso Rabada (1/48) and Lungi Ngidi (1/63) took the wickets among the Srilankan bowlers.
Chasing a total of 326, South African batsmen failed badly and the team tumbled down for 83 in just 27.1 overs. Marco Jansen (14), Rassie van der Dussen (13) and David Miller (11) managed to score double digits among the batsmen of South Africa, Ravindra Jadeja (5/33) delivered his best and Kuldeep Yadav (2/7) and Mohammed Shami (2/18) took the wickets among the Indian bowlers. India reported a 243 run victory against South Africa in Eden Gardens and Virat Kohli is announced as the Player of the Match. India has one more match with Netherlands in the league stage on November 12th. The final of ICC World Cup will take place on November 19th.
