The second and the deciding test between India and New Zealand took place in Mumbai and Team India reported a historic win and the test match was completed during the first session of the fourth day. India reported a record win by 372 runs. India won the toss and elected to bat first. India scored 325 in their first innings while New Zealand tumbled down for 62. Team India took up their second innings and declared the innings for 276 after they lost 7 wickets in the second innings. Chasing a target of 540 between huge pressure, New Zealand tumbled down for 167 and lost the second test by 372 runs.
Daryl Mitchell (60) and Henry Nicholls (44) are the top scorers for New Zealand in the second innings. Ravichandran Ashwin (4/34) and Jayant Yadav (4/49) took most of the wickets among the Indian bowlers. Axar Patel took the other wicket. Mayank Agarwal was named as the Player of the Match while Ravichandran Ashwin is named as the Player of the Series. After losing the T20 series, New Zealand also lost the test series for Team India. Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the first Indian player to win 50 international matches in each format.
