On Wednesday, Indian Cricket, BCCI CEO, Rahul Johri said, since the IPL-13 has been at a standstill ever since corona started, they will resume soon.
Now that lockdown restrictions are easing out, plans on starting IPL-13 after monsoon is on. This brings in good news for the fans and stakeholders.
At the TCM Sports huddle Webinar, Johri said, they will be able to recover for the financial crunch as cricket is a leader for all the sponsors. He says so because most people last year watched IPL instead of voting for the elections.
Further, he mentioned that this change won’t happen overnight and it is a process wherein things will take time to normalize.
If players step back this year, their decision would be respected, he says.
He said, all the players will have to quarantine themselves once flights operate and they will have to see how would that impact their schedules.
His entire team is positive even though there are stringent rules of quarantine even for practice. They are hopeful that this situation might improve after the monsoon.
The T20 World that was to take place in Australia from October 18 to November 15 is postponed and The BCCI is dependent on the ICC.
According to TOI, most of the Sports Events are either canceled, withdrawn, or postponed to 2021. The events that are scheduled for 2021 are the Tokyo Olympics and Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
