The Indian cricket board, BCCI, is planning to push forward the Sri Lanka cricket tour by a week next month with an intention to give enough break before the home series with South Africa after returning from Lanka. The Sri Lanka tour involves three-Test series between the teams.
The men in blue are presently set to play three one day internationals and two T20 series with Zimbabwe. As the final match of the tour will be held on July 19, 2015, players will be left with little break in between.
According to a BCCI source quoted by PTI, "We are working out the modalities and the program will be out in 2-3 days. We are keen that the Indian team returns from Lanka by September 2 or so, so that they have a complete break of one month before the home series against South Africa in October-November,"
"At present the tour is due to start around August 11 but we want it to be advanced by a week as the team would have returned from Zimbabwe by July 20," the source added.
Once Indian team returns from Sri Lanka, they will play four Test matches, five One-Day Internationals and three T20 Internationals with South Africa. Test matches are to be played at Ahmedabad, Delhi, Nagpur and Bengaluru, while ODIs at Chennai, Kanpur, MP, Rajkot and Mumbai. Kolkata, Mohali, Dharamshala will host T20 Internationals.
