The all round domination from Sri Lanka players resulted in easy victory for the team. At MCG Sri Lanka won the toss and chosen batting first, and with the good beginning as openers Lahiru Thirimanne with 52 runs and Tilakaratne Dilshan with unbeaten 161 runs from 146 balls strongly built good grip on the match.

Kumar Sangakkara, who is playing his 400th ODI, scored 105 from just 76 balls with 13 fours and 1 six. Sri Lanka easily scored 332 runs with only one wicket loss.

In reply to Sri Lanka’s 332, Bangladesh started very poor game as Tamim Iqbal lost his wicket at 0 individual runs. Only Sabbir Rahman with 53 played for better score, Bangladesh ended at 240 runs, 92 short of the target. Malinga took 3 wickets with 3.9 economy, and Man of the Match Dilshan has taken 2 wickets with 4.4 economy. Lakmal took 2, Mathews and Perera have taken each one.

The Sri Lanka’s overall command on the match will ensure better performance in upcoming matches. England will face Sri Lanka on March 1st.
