FIFA : England bows out

England bowed out of the FIFA World Cup 2010 with Germany inflicting a 4-1 defeat on the former in the Round of 16 at Bloemfontein on Sunday. Uruguayan referee Jorge Larrionda and his assistant denied England a perfect goal when the score line was 2-1.

The 20-year-old forward Thomas Mueller of Germany scored twice in the second half finishing two quick counterattacks within 3 minutes which put Germany into the World Cup quarterfinals and sank England's hopes.

Even though Frank Lampard’s shot from the edge of the penalty box crashed into the crossbar bringing a goal to the England, the goal was denied to it by the umpires ending the hopes of the team.
