They won it for wholesome entertainment, and it couldn’t get better than to be recognised nationally which is a great feeling, John expressed.

 Other winners in the list...

Fact-fully, Khurrana, who played the lead in “Vicky Donor”, was happy with the recognition for his debut film while Ayushmann said that it’s extremely overwhelming and he is proud to be a part of this project, which has a rare combo of quirk and credibility.

In fact, Raja, Best Make-up Artist for Tamil teen crime-thriller “Vazhakku En 18/9” and it seems that it took a few calls to convince Raja that he actually won the National Award. When he added that initially when someone called him to tell him the news, he thought it was a prank. anyhow it was only after the calls started pouring in that made him convinced that he had indeed won the award. He have received such an honour after 33 years in the industry. Thanks to this award, he suppose at least now a bunch of people will recognize him for the work he have been doing for so many years.

He even added that he seriously didn’t keep track of the number of films having it known that   some day he would be asked this question after winning the nation award he would have.

Raja was saying that he has worked in recent Tamil films such as “Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu”, “Naan Mahaan Alla” and “Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai”.

As a matter of fact, “Vazhakku En 18/9” which is directed by Balaji Sakthivel, also won the National Award for best feature film in Tamil.

On the other hand, S.S Rajamouli, Best Special Effects and Best Regional Film in Telugu for "Eega" and that the Telugu filmmaker was hoping Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep, who played the antagonist in the film, would win an award as well when he added that they were expecting for visual FX for sure and he was also expecting an award for Sudeep. He feel happy for his team and Makuta VFX who really crossed barriers, particularly in animation, to get the amazing result. In fact, the whole team at Makuta is super excited about winning the National Award for special effects and graphics which was the toughest project they handled with well over 2.000 shots," according to Dasaradha R.Gude, chairman, Makuta VFX. The film also won the National Award for best feature film in Telugu.

Pandit ji also expressed that Kamal Haasan too has a part in this honour he have received and he thanked him for giving him an opportunity to choreograph a song in the south. He added that  even though Hasaan is a highly talented dancer, he did lot of hard work for the song and he spent hours getting every step right and he deserves special appreciation for that. What is more interesting to him is that he is the only male he have ever choreographed for.

Pandit Birju Maharaj won the award for choreographing the song "Unnai Kaanadhu Naan", which features Kamal Haasan performing Kathak steps. A legendary dancer who has also choreographed songs in films such as "Gadar: Ek Prem Katha", "Devdas" and is currently choreographing a song in Madhuri Dixit-starrer "Dedh Ishqiya".

Poornima Ramaswamy who has won the best costume designer for Tamil period drama "Paradesi" headed straight to director Bala Pazhanisaamy’s residence after hearing that she had won.

Poornima added, that she is honoured to receive a National Award for her debut film while stressing that fact that how many would be blessed with such an honour for their first film?

In fact, she is on her way to Bala sir’s house to share her happiness with him because had not it been for him, she would have been nobody. She even stressed on the fact that besides Bala sir,  all credit goes to her team that was involved in the research work for getting everything in place for her work as a reason being that it was a period film and, therefore, demanded a lot of research work  for perfect  execution that too having so many deadlines.

The concluding fact remains that after all it's all about having exceptional talent and that, genuine talent always wins today or tomorrow!

A big congratulations to all the winners!
