Graceful Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel, who is quite excited about walking the red carpet of Cannes Film Festival, will be engaging in a desi appearence.

Arousing a fact of interest, her upcoming film Shortcut Romeo, which also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Puja Gupta, will premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film festival on May 22 at French Riviera.

Furthermore, the Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai actor has teamed up with ace designer Manish Malhotra to get a perfect look for the occasion.

Ameesha said in a statement that it is a huge honour for her to be representing their cinema at Cannes and she is not going there as a brand ambassador but going there for her movie. Manish and she herslf have decided that since she is representing the country on a global platform, it would be perfect to be dressed in something that's truly desi. Ameesha think nothing looks better on an Indian woman than a 'sari' or 'lehenga'.

As a matter of fact, she has to walk the red carpet in the morning and the premiere of her film is at night, so there will be two outfits for the 37-year-old.

Manish said, keeping in mind Ameesha's complexion and personality, they have given her something very Indian. While talking about her look, Manish said black and white, being classic colours, have been incorporated in Ameesha's outfit that is high on Kashmiri and 'chikankari' work while they have also kept in mind the summer trends internationally.

Shortcut Romeo is directed by Susi Ganesh and will release on June 21.
