Endless Cases of Sexual Assault, Abuses Make India One of the Unsafe Countries for Solo Women Travelers

The rise of sexual assault and abuses against women in India is surely making each one’s blood run cold.
According to the latest study - Women's Danger Index, undertaken by two bloggers, India ranks 9th in the list of most unsafe country in the world for solo women travelers.
According to Daily Mail, the study, by travel bloggers Asher and Lyric Fergusson kept in mind eight crucial factors, including safe to walk alone at night, intentional homicide of women, intimate partner violence, gender inequality, gender gap and violence against women attitudes, while working on the report.
In this study, South Africa is the most dangerous place to be in for a solo woman traveler. Croatia has been rated as one the safest countries to walk on the street and America has been ranked as the worst in the West for its homicide rates and intimate partner violence.
According to the Thomson Reuters Foundation report published early this year, India is one of the most unsafe countries in the world to be a woman, keeping in mind the perpetual list which includes, sexual violence against women, human trafficking for domestic work, forced labor, sexual slavery, and forced marriage.
According to the survey, India is also one of the most dangerous countries in the world for cultural traditions that impact women, citing acid attacks, female genital mutilation, child marriage, and physical abuse.
