A watch adapted for James Bond movie was auctioned for a whopping $205,000 at a pop culture auction on Wednesday. The original watch, bought strapless, was procured at a car boot sale for a meager 25 pounds.
The Breitling Top Time (1962), the first watch to be modified by Q Branch, was worn by former James Bond Sir Sean Connery in the movie 'Thunderball' (1965) was expected to fetch something between 40,000 pounds and 60,000 pounds.
Christie, the auction house said this was the first “Bond” watch to be furnished with a "Geiger counter" to help the British sleuth track down the emission of nuclear radiation in the movie.
