Superstar Rajinikanth is busy wrapping up his part for 2.0 in the direction of Shankar. The movie is touted to be a visual feast and it will hit the screens next year. Rajini will move to his next project which will be directed by PA Ranjith. The regular shoot of the film is expected to start from May 28th in Chennai in a specially erected set which will reprise one of the famous slums in Mumbai. There are strong talks that the film is based on Mumbai’s mafia don and smuggler Haji Mastan. His adopted son slammed Rajinikanth with a legal notice asking Rajini not to showcase his father as a smuggler.
Now, the production house Wunderbar Films stepped out with an explanation revealing that the film is not based on Haji Mastan and it is a fiction set in Mumbai. “One such rumour published in some publications is that the film is based on the life of Shri Haji Mastan. Based on these reports, the adopted son of Haji Mastan, Sundar Shaeker, has written to Superstar Rajinikanth. We would like to make it clear that Production No. 12 is a fiction with Mumbai as the backdrop,” the release by Wunderbar Films added. The pre-production work of the film is currently in final stages and Dhanush will be producing the film on Wunderbar Films. This untitled project is all set to hit the screens during summer next year.
