Kamala Harris, a trailblazer of Indian and African descent, emerges as a more formidable contender in the upcoming presidential race than her running mate, President Joe Biden, according to a recent CNN survey. The poll reveals that Biden's approval ratings have plummeted following a lackluster debate performance in Atlanta, leading to growing calls within the Democratic party for him to step aside and allow someone else to lead the charge in the critical November 5th election. The data indicates that former President Trump holds a six-point advantage over Biden, while Harris appears to be within striking distance, with 45% of registered voters supporting her over Trump's 47% - a result that falls within the margin of error, suggesting a tight and unpredictable scenario. Harris' stronger performance against Trump is attributed to her broader appeal, particularly among women and independent voters, who appear more inclined to support her candidacy compared to Biden's.

The spokesperson expressed understanding of the poll question, but stated it was best addressed by the campaign itself, as they had outlined their position. Instead, the spokesperson chose to focus on the President's record and accomplishments, noting they aligned with the views of most Americans. With experience comes wisdom, the spokesperson added, and this was a quality the President possessed. It was also mentioned that former First Lady Michelle Obama had a significant lead over the President in a recent Ipsos poll, though her office had previously confirmed she would not be running for President this year.
