World's largest food festival the Taste of Chicago took off to a sultry start in the magnificent Grant Park amidst much hype and hoopla on Wednesday. The lakefront has been the home to Chicago's premier summer festival ever since it was first introduced in the summer of 1980.
The 33rd annual food festival at Chicago, to be held from July 10-14, has as many as thirty-five restaurants, four pop-up bistros and 14 food trucks catering to the food lovers. It is for the first time that food trucks has been called in, in a bid to attract more crowd to the event.
The event flagged off with celeb chefs Ted Allen and Rick Bayless wooing their crowd with their vittles.
Besides appeasing all guts, the event will also be a treat for the music lovers with some of world's best musicians like Robin Thicke and Jill Scott, Led Zeppelin alumnus Robert Plant, alternative rockers Neon Trees and Grammy award-winning indie pop group set to rock the stage.
