Want to try a super soft dosa that melts in the mouth? Then try this buttermilk dosa. This can be relished as breakfast with any chutney this summer. Don’t miss to have this light golden brown colored dosa that is mildly crisp on the edges.
Ingredients required to make buttermilk dosa
Parboiled rice: 3 cups
Urad dal: 2 tbsp
Poha or Flattened rice: 1 cup
Buttermilk: 500 ml
Salt
Oil
Baking soda (Optional): 1/4 tsp
Method of preparation of buttermilk dosa
Wast rice, urad dal. Add poha. Soak the mix for 5-6 hours in buttermilk. Grind the mix to batter. It should be thinner then the regular dosa, so it should be of pouring consistency. Add baking soda and salt for taste. Mix well.
Take a griddle or dosa tawa, heat on medium flame and grease it. Make dosa, by pouring a ladle of batter on the hot pan. Cover it with lid after drizzling few oil drops on and around it.
After few minutes, take the lid off. Unlike regular dosa, there is not need to flip it to cook the other side. Take off the dosa from pan and serve the spongy melting dosa with any of your favorite chutneys.
