Indian white goods posed for boom in 2012-13

White goods Markets are right now predicted for a boom, with most of the companies devising strategies to build a large customer base in the next financial year as this year approaches to an end. Experts predict that the markets for white goods like Refrigerators, Televisions, Home appliances and air conditioners are to be mostly dominated by the Indian manufacturers like the Godrej, Onida, Voltas or the Videocon. Earlier the situation was different with the dominance of Korean companies like Samsung and LG. These companies ate away many Indian companies during launches like BPL, Dyanora and Hatari. But the situation has changed as the Korean giants are now concentrating on high end technology products like the mobile. The mobile market has become so wide and demanding that a company like Nokia has just stuck to the segment and never altered its manufacturing interests.

The Korean companies adapting the latest technology, based on the decisions of their head quarter instructions have taken a plunge into the Mobi world. So the space for 35,000 Cr Indian white goods segment fell void and Indian manufacturers who till day were getting step son treatment from the markets are ready to gobble the same. But the marketing experts do believe that technology will play a big role on consumer psych. But none of the companies possess adequate exposure in this segment. So if we could create a space for the R&D in our manufacturing units which is on par with the Koreans, then the market is sure in our hands. But they also caution against the invading Japanese products.  (With inputs from internet: AarKay)
