The brand Tata has always been reckoned as household name across India. They were bettering products to fit the average Indian budgets and the quality that is ideally suitable for the Indian climate. Once again the brand has set standards in announcing recall of its Nano variants sold in the market to replace the existing starter motors with an enhanced version designed in house. And the service is free of cost.
But the mission that Tata’s have boarded on is the country’s largest with mammoth sales of 140,428 vehicles, on roads since 2009, its launch. However, it excludes the Nano 2012 model which rolled off the Tata assembly line on November 21 this year.
As per estimates the free replacement should cost the company approximately 115 Cr, but the management says it in pursuit of customer comforts. Notably there are no complaints from the market regarding the motors. The company said it had kicked off the exercise in October and has already replaced the starter motor in about 50,000 Nanos.
Will this affect the sales of the car, till date considered as the common man’s dream car? Or will it increase the goodwill of the responsive attitude of India’s most sought after brand? Only time will tell the difference. So if you own one rush to your dealer for details.
