Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the longest sub-4 meter compact sedan in the country. Over 2.7 million Dzire units have been sold to date. The car has now been launched in its fourth generation in the Indian market with a few changes to give it a tougher fight with its rivals. The rival Honda Amaze has been launched in the country with a base price of Rs 6.79 lakh. The Dzire's strength lies in its reliability and mileage, but the latest generation has been criticized for poor safety ratings. Interestingly, the new-gen Dzire has just received a 5-star GNCAP rating, so its entry is great. The all-new Dzire will be available in different variants like the Swift: LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. Automatic trimming is also provided. However, the automatic option is not available on the base LXI variant. Factory installed CNG kits are only available for the VXI and ZXI versions. The company is also offering the new Dzire on subscription basis, with prices starting at Rs 18,248.

The dimensions of the new Dzire are almost the same. The overall length and width remain unchanged at 3995 mm and 1735 mm respectively. The height increases from 1515 mm to 1525 mm in 10 mm increments. The distance between the two axes and the distance to the ground have not changed. It is located at a height of 163 mm above the ground and the distance between the wheels is 2450 mm. The updated Z12E engine is borrowed from the new generation Swift and uses a three-cylinder architecture. The maximum power is 82 hp and the maximum torque is 112 Nm. Maruti Suzuki claims that this engine is one of the most efficient and delivers a speed of 24.79 kmph with the manual gearbox, 25.71 kmph with the AMT gearbox and 33.73 kmph with the CNG. Transmission options include 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT. However, the CNG equipment is only available with a stick shift.

The dashboard of the new Dzire is the same as that of the Swift but in a lighter beige tone. There are also structural accents compared to the Swift. With the exception of two new additions: an electric sunroof and a 360-degree camera, everything in the interior remains largely the same. In terms of space, it is similar to the Swift, but its trunk volume is 382 liters. Thanks to a long list of standard safety features, the new generation Dzire scored a full five stars in crash tests. The Dzire comes with ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, hill start assist, ESP, traction control, reversing sensors, rear fog lamp, seat belt reminder and more as standard across the range. It also features a large 9-inch touchscreen, an infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry and exit, and more.

The Dzire has been completely redesigned and now looks more European than Japanese. Additionally, the Dzire palette includes a total of seven color options: Gallant Red, Nutmeg Brown, Alluring Blue, Bluish Black, Magma Grey, Polar White and Gleaming Silver.
