Israel launched new air strikes on Lebanon on Sunday, two days after it killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in an attack on a densely populated area of Beirut. Lebanon said the latest Israeli strikes killed 105 people and injured 359 others. The strikes hit areas near the city of Sidon, as well as the east, south, and around Beirut. Four people were also killed in an Israeli strike on Beirut on Monday, the first attack on the city since the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel began after Hamas attacked Israeli towns in October 2022. France also reported that a second French national had been killed in Lebanon following a blast in the south on Monday. The announcement came as the French Foreign Minister visited Lebanon, the first high-level foreign diplomat to do so since the Israeli attacks escalated.

According to Reuters, the body of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was found at the site of an Israeli air strike on Beirut and is reported to be "intact". The cause of his death appears to be "blunt trauma from the force of the blast", as his body had no "direct" wounds. The Israeli military stated that the air strike killed Nasrallah and an additional 20 Hezbollah members, after previous strikes had already killed top Hezbollah leaders Fuad Shukr and Ibrahim Aqil. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to continue the assault on Lebanon, aiming to make Israel's northern areas secure again for residents who have been forced to flee due to Hezbollah attacks.
