US President Joe Biden arrived in India on the 8th of September for the G20 summit. This is the first visit of Joe Biden to India. Biden after reaching India headed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence for bilateral talks. Biden and Modi interacted about many things like defence, education, health, culture and tie-ups.
Joe Biden and Narendra Modi even interacted about building resilient global semiconductor supply chains and intensified consultation to expand the collaboration between the US and India.
Besides this Joe Biden and Modi will unveil a rail and shipping corridor linking India and the Middle East extending it to Europe. Both will reveal the project framework for Global infrastructure investment related to the partnership. The railway and shipping corridor will be a boost for the trade.
As part of his visit, the US president congratulated Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) scientists on the success of Chandrayaan 3 for their historic launch at the South Pole. He also welcomed the issuance of a letter of request from the Defence Ministry of India to procure 31 General Atomics MQ-9B (16 Sky Guardian and 15 Sea Guardian) remotely piloted aircraft and their associated equipment, which will enhance the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities of India’s armed forces across all domains, as written in India.
