Shortly after President Biden announced his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Vice President Kamala Harris expressed her gratitude for his endorsement and her intention to secure the party's nomination. This has sparked speculation about her potential running mate, with Arizona Senator Mark Kelly's name being mentioned. Immediately following Harris' announcement, Senator Kelly voiced his support, stating that she is the best candidate to defeat former President Trump and guide the nation's future. A former Navy combat pilot and NASA astronaut, Kelly was elected to the Senate in 2020 to complete John McCain's term, bringing his extensive military and space exploration experience to the political arena.
To safeguard reproductive rights, it's crucial to keep his running mate JD Vance out of power. Last year, he visited Tel Aviv with a group of Senators and reportedly pledged support for Israel's conflict with Hamas. Another potential running mate, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, has also endorsed her nomination. He believes "She has the necessary qualities to defeat Donald Trump and lead our nation thoughtfully and with integrity." With a legal background, he took office as Attorney General in 2000 and was elected Governor in 2016, securing re-election in 2020. Governor Cooper has tackled the opioid crisis in North Carolina, launching the state's first Opioid Action Plan in 2017, and has championed children's healthcare. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has also endorsed Harris, despite being considered a potential Vice Presidential candidate himself. He has vowed to do everything in his power to help elect Kamala Harris as the 47th President of the United States.

Acts of violence directed towards any political party or political leader are completely unacceptable. Attacking or harming individuals based on their political affiliations goes against the principles of democracy and civil discourse. All citizens should condemn such violent behavior, as it undermines the peaceful exchange of ideas and the democratic process. Political disagreements must be resolved through lawful and nonviolent means, not through the use of force or aggression. Resorting to violence to achieve political aims is a dangerous and unacceptable course of action that should be firmly rejected by all members of society. Last year in January, Governor Shapiro took office as the leader of Pennsylvania. He was previously elected as the state's Attorney General in 2016. During his tenure as Attorney General, he uncovered the Catholic Church's longstanding concealment of child sexual abuse, identifying 301 predator priests and thousands of victims, prompting investigations nationwide. In 2020, when the Republicans challenged the election results, he successfully defended Pennsylvania's electoral outcome in court numerous times before and after Election Day.
Another potential running mate for Ms Harris is Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who, at 46 years old, is one of the youngest state leaders in the country. Prior to becoming Governor, he served as the state's Attorney General. As Governor, he has taken action against legislation aimed at banning abortion.
