India’s prestigious mission Chandrayaan 3 has achieved one more feet. On Thursday, the Vikram lander module of the spacecraft successfully separated from the propulsion module. It has been a month since the launch of Chandrayaan 3 from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the moon mission.
Chandrayaan 3 was launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota. The Vikram lander module was named after Vikram Sarabhai (1919-1971), who is called the father of the Indian space program.

LM is successfully separated from the Propulsion Module (PM)
LM is set to descend to a slightly lower orbit upon a deboosting planned for tomorrow around 1600 Hrs., IST.

Chandrayaan 3’s safe and soft landing is a proud moment for the country. It was approved at a cost of Rs 250cr, excluding the launch cost. They commenced the project in 2020. Due to the pandemic, the mission was delayed.
India is now the fourth country in the world to achieve this rare feat after the United States, Russia and China. Chandrayaan 3 is the third lunar mission from our country, where the second mission was a failure. Chandrayaan 2 failed when it tried for a smooth landing on the moon. Chandrayaan 1 mission had more than 3400 orbits around the moon and lost communication on August 29, 2009, according to ISRO.
