The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is all set to make its second attempt to land a spacecraft on the moon. Chadrayaan 2 was a rover that crashed on the moon’s surface in 2019 after problems arose. The prestigious Chandrayaan3 has been launched on Friday at 2:35PM from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. The heavy rocket is weighed up to 642 tons LVM3. GSLV stands 43.5 meters and which is half of the height of Qutb Minar.

If India succeeds this time, India will be the fourth country followed by the United States, Russia and China. India’s moon mission is turned prestigious and this help to bring the moon closer to us. The space mission essentially carries a rocket and a spacecraft, where spacecraft operates and fulfils its duty and the rocket will be destroyed after finishing its job, that is carrying the spacecraft to the moon.

The spacecraft is expected to touch down on the moon on August 23rd, that is after 40 days of its journey. ISRO is keeping its finger crossed as the last mission- Chandrayaan 2 was a failure. In 2008 India surprised the world with its first moon mission, Chandrayaan, which landed on the south pole of the moon and located water molecules on the moon.
