RTI Announces How Much Was Spent On Donald Trump's India Visit In 2020

American ex-President Donald Trump along with his wife and daughter spent three days in India in the year 2020. The Centre spent close to Rs 38 lakhs on the 36-hour tour of Donald Trump in India including the meals, accomodation, logistics and others. The External Affairs Ministry has informed the same to the Central Information Commission. Donald Trump was accompanied by his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka Trump, son-in-law Jared Kushner and other officials of White House. Donald Trump and his family visited New Delhi, Agra and Ahmedabad on February 24th and 25th in the year 2020.
Donald Trump spent three hours in Ahmedabad on February 24th and he attended a 22-km roadshow and paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram. Donald Trump also addressed a mass gathering named as Namaste Trump along with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Motera Cricket Stadium. He then flew to Agra and visited Taj Mahal. Donald Trump was in New Delhi for the crucial bilateral talks with Narendra Modi. Mishall Bhathena in an RTI announced about the expenses. He filed an application on October 24th, 2020 and he did not receive any response. Chief Information Commissioner YK Sinha informed that the ministry explained the cause of the delay in furnishing the reply.
