A cargo ship that is packed with hundreds of luxury cars is caught with fire in the mid of the Atlantic. The luxury cars include 1100 Porsche cars and the ship is drifting off the coast of the Azores. All the 22 crew members who were on the board were rescued from the vessel. The fire broke out on the morning of Wednesday in the ship named Felicity Ace and the ship departed from Emden, Germany on February 10th and it is scheduled to reach Davisville RI on Wednesday. The ship was about 200 miles from Terceira Island located in Azores. The Porteguese forces rushed to evacuate the crew on Wednesday.
None of the crew members were injured and a helicopter was brought to carry the rescue operation. The crew members were taken to the nearest island Faial. The shipping company could not be immediately reached and it is unclear how much of the ship's inventory was lost in the fire. Volkswagen Group estimates that 4000 cars were on the board and 189 among them were Bentleys. The showrooms across the country are trying hard to meet the demands due to the pandemic. There were 1100 Porsche cars on the cargoship told several news portals. The ship was sailing 90 nautical miles southwest of the Azores in Portugal. The ship continued to burn and Porsche confirmed that a number of cars were among the cargo on the ship.
