The coronavirus is here to stay and several new variants are traced in various parts of the globe. The Omicron variant was located in South Africa and is now present all over the globe. The latest news is that the scientists from Wuhan, China discovered a new type of the coronavirus named 'NeoCov' which has high death and transmission rate. The report is released by the Russian news agency Sputnik. As per the report, NeoCov is not new and is associated with MERS-CoV which made it to the Middle East in 2012 and 2015. This is similar to SARS-CoV-2. NeoCov is traced in bats in South Africa. A detailed research was done by Wuhan University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Biophysics.

If people are infected with NeoCov, there would be no antibodies or protein molecules produced. One in every three infected people will die as per the research and the transmission rate would be quite high. The Russian State Virology and Biotechnology Research Center issued a statement. "The Vector research centre is aware of the data obtained by Chinese researchers on the NeoCoV coronavirus. At the moment, the issue is not the emergence of a new coronavirus capable of actively spreading among humans" told the statement. For now, the NeoCov variant is spreading in animals. One mutation can lead to the virus from being passed to humans from animals.
